Playlist for Fall

Since fall's is just around the corner, I decided to make up a playlist to fit the soon to come chilly days. I think music that's beautiful and haunting fits the feeling of autumn perfectly, so here are the songs I chose--

Young and Beautiful - Lana Del Rey
We Don't Eat - James Vincent McMorrow
Young Guns - Moonlight Bride
Love is Blindness - cover by Jack White
Stacks - Bon Iver
Song for Zula - Phosphorescent
Christmas TV - Slow Club
Broadripple is Burning - Margot and the Nuclear So & Sos
Not So Sure - Joe Pug
Paper Aeroplane - Angus & Julia Stone
Video Games - Lana Del Rey
Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men

I also snapped a few photos that reminded me of the onset of fall-

Hope you like the music and photos!

Hot Pink

The other day I decided to give bright pink liner a shot. I'm not a huge wearer of eyeliner, especially not dark colours, but I was enthralled by the electric eye makeup I'd seen several models wearing. I ended up loving it! It's so different and I paired it with a matching lipstick and clean face.

What do you think? Would you wear bright eyeliner, or is it just too wild?

Confessions of a Beauty Blogger Tag!

I was tagged by Chloe from realityleaveslotstoimagination.blogspot.com to do this tag! Her blog is darling, you should check it out!

1) How many hours a week do you spend writing/ editing posts?
It really depends on whether I have ideas for posts or if I'm busy. I've been kind of slacking lately, maybe putting one post up a week, but I'm going to try my best to do more! It takes me about an hour to get each post ready, maybe less. Uploading the photos probably takes the longest!

2) Are you a spender or a saver?
I'm probably more of a saver, because I don't like spending a lot of money. But sometimes I just let myself go and treat myself to shopping! I'm definitely a sucker for lipstick, every time I shop I buy one!

3) When is it easier for you to blog?
I do a lot of my blogging at night. That's usually when I spend time editing the layout of my blog, too. Sometimes I blog in the afternoon though, it really depends on when it's quietest.

4) What makes writing behind a computer comfortable for you?
I think it allows you to be able to write to people who are similar to you and have the same interests as you. It's always nice to know that there are people out there who enjoy the same things I do! Since I've been going to the same school all my life and I'm not out yet, there isn't really much of a chance to meet many new people.

5) What's your worst hair/makeup habit?
I always forget to put on moisturizer! My skin has a tendency to be dry sometimes and that makes it difficult to apply foundation.

6) What's one quote you wished the world lived by?
Man, I have so many favourite quotes! Here are a few that I really like--
"Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don't see it yourself"- Unknown
"I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it"- Jack Dawson, Titanic
"You are terrifying and strange and beautiful, something not everyone knows how to love"- Warsan Shire

7) How long do you spend getting ready everyday?
Probably around an hour! I have to take my shower, get dressed, do my makeup, and then do my hair! Except a lot of times I just let my hair go wild because I'm too lazy to do anything else to it, haha!

8) Who's your favourite blogger?
Hmm, I think I have several. Kailey from Mermaidens is definitely one of my favourites! She has super fun outfits and I really enjoy reading her blog. I also love Shae. Her painted photography is incredible. Another favourite blog would have to be The Road is Home. It was one of the first blogs I read, and it is written so honestly and the photographs are so so beautiful.

9) Who is a blogger you read who you think deserves more subscribers than they have?
Hannah from Sweet Sweet Noir! Actually I'm not sure how many subscribers she has, but her blog is super lovely and I think she deserves a lot! The photos are gorgeous and I love her style. I find her blog to be a big inspiration.

10) What's one thing you're excited about in the upcoming year?
One thing? There are lots! I can't wait to adventure and take lots of photos and try new things. I want to try my best to live exactly how I imagine.

11) What's your most awkward blogging moment?
I actually haven't had one... yet. :-D

12) How long does it take you to prep for a post?
Well the first thing I do is plan what the post will be, and usually that just happens when an idea pops into my head. Then I have to go take the photos for it, which can sometimes take awhile, depending on whether I have someone to help me or if I just have to use a tripod and self timer. After that I pick through them, edit them, and upload them. Then I have to write, which probably takes the longest unless it's just a few quick notes about the photos!

13) Are you wearing pants (trousers) right now or are you actually wearing pajama bottoms or sweatpants?
I'm wearing some old beat up skinny jeans from F21!

14) What are you most proud of in your life?
I think I'm most proud of myself over this past summer. Last year was kind of difficult for me because I was feeling very different from everyone around me. I was interested in spending nights under the stars talking about old movies or drinking coffee and dreaming while everyone else was into, well, different things. But then summer came and I surrounded myself with people who believed in the same things I did, and who enjoyed adventuring through meadows and wearing flower crowns and listening to records. I did my best to see beauty in everything and I began to be more confident in who I was, and to accept myself. And I think that was a very good thing.

15) Who do you tag?

Thank you Chloe for tagging me!

Braided Bun

The other day I was trying to find something interesting to do with my hair, and after failing miserably at attempting a hair bow, I decided to just try a braided bun. It ended up being incredibly easy!

Here's how-

Make a high ponytail. It's okay if it's a little messy!

Then braid the ponytail.
Then twist the braid around just like what you would do with a regular bun and secure it with bobby pins.

That's all! I think it's perfect for hot summer days. It's super easy and I love the way it looks! <3
